The degree programs in Environmental Science at Stephen F. Austin State University are designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to understand and address the complex environmental problems facing modern society. In both the Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degree programs, students select one of two specialized tracts to provide additional focus to their studies. Bachelor of Science - Environmental Science
The bachelor of science degree program for environmental science offers two specialization tracks: land and water resources, and environmental planning and management.
Land and Water Resources
This track is for students seeking a challenging, science-based curriculum. It includes courses in microbiology, limnology, geology and quantitative analysis.
Environmental Planning and Management
This track provides a broader education experience with the flexibility to tailor the curriculum to the student's interests. Students in this track must choose a minor or second major in order to complete the program - recommended areas include biology, business, chemistry, communications, forestry, geography and geology.
