Studying environmental issues and sustainability from historic, sacred, systemic, and contemporary points of view, you will have the opportunity as a Naropa University Environmental Studies major to help us heal and transform our connection to the natural world.

• Develop deep relationships with your inner and outer landscapes through mindfulness training while gaining the skills to address the needs of our human and ecological communities.

• Learn in a variety of environments including traditional classrooms, Naropa’s green campus, and Colorado’s outdoors.

• Engage with community partners from urban food justice sites, local restoration projects, and environmental education centers.

Equipped with a wellspring of compassion and concrete skills, Naropa environmental studies majors go on to do compelling work as educators, sustainability leaders, permaculture designers, urban planners, writers, and in other green professions.

Environmental Studies Minors:
