When we look for answers to some of the most pressing questions about our future and the planet we inhabit, we look to environmental science. Maryville University’s undergraduate degree in environmental science provides you with a broad knowledge base about the interactions between living things and the physical environment. We’ll show you the links between human choices and environmental effects. You’ll study biology, chemistry and physics along with environmental law and ethics.
Project Based Learning:
Maryville University also offers a BA in Environmental Studies. Students take a limited selection of natural science courses and a broad base of human and natural history courses.
Students in both Environmental Science and Environmental Studies programs are offered opportunities for internships in related fields. Students interested in environmental public policy and the decisions critical to the development of local, regional or national strategies can work with a public or private environmental facility off campus.
Maryville environmental also take advantage of grants for summer research programs at Maryville University and the Shaw Nature Reserve.
Career choices in the field range from conservation scientists, ecologists, hydrologists, foresters, environmental health and safety inspectors, urban planners and environmental attorneys.
