Kenyon College - Environmental Studies Program
As the human population grows, how does society impact, and how is it impacted by, the natural world? What are the economic consequences and costs of our environmental policies? Can we balance the inseparable relationship between human need and environmental management? What are the ecological, social, and legal issues that influence how we exploit natural resources? And how will those resources sustain our growing population?
Kenyon’s Environmental Studies concentration prepares students to answer questions such as these. This interdisciplinary program examines the intersection of individuals, societies, and the natural world in both a local and global context. The concentration provides a broad understanding of environmental issues to complement a student’s major field of study.
